Sarah Wootton

Chief Executive

Before joining Compassion in Dying, Sarah was Head of Communications and Change at the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) where she helped to change government policy on pay, pregnancy and flexible working. Partly as a result of Sarah's strategy to put sex equality issues at the forefront of policy making, family policy is now a key media debate and political battleground. Before that at the Family Planning Association (FPA), Sarah worked to get sexual health beyond HIV and AIDS on to the Government's agenda.  She raised the FPA's profile and strengthened its campaigning arm, winning six industry awards in the process. Sarah was a founding trustee of Abortion Rights and a long-term board member of the Women's Resource Centre.
