About Compassion in Dying
Compassion in Dying is a national charity that supports individuals who are at the end of life to have what they consider to be a good death by providing advice and information around patient rights and choices. We also conduct research around rights and choices in end of life care.
Our vision is a world in which everyone has access to the care and support that is right for them at the end of life.
This means:
- access to expert information about your end-of-life options
- support to make informed choices
- care from the provider that you feel is most appropriate
Our mission is to support people who are at the end of life to have what they consider to be a good death
We achieve this by:
- providing information and guidance to patients and health professionals about end-of-life decision making
- conducting research into end-of-life issues to advance the development of better end-of-life care
- empowering individuals to exercise their rights and ensuring their choices are respected
Compassion in Dying works to support individuals at the end of life alongside the lobbying organisation Dignity in Dying, which campaigns to defend and extend individual rights at the end of life.
